AIIPWorld

URL to PDF

Enter the address of a public web page and get it back as a PDF. The page is loaded in headless Chromium, JavaScript included, then printed with the paper size and margins you choose.

  • Public pages only. The page is loaded as an anonymous visitor, so pages behind a login or paywall will give you the login or paywall screen.
Complete the human check to enable the button.

Result

Your PDF will appear here.

The free web tool prints at most the first 10 pages. For longer documents, use the API.

Retention: web-tool results are deleted after 10 minutes and no history is kept. API results are kept 1 day on the free plan and 7 days on Starter and Pro (30 days on Business).

Do this from your code

The same request, built from the input and options above. Create an account to get an API key.

curl -X POST https://api.aiipworld.com/v1/render \
  -H "Authorization: Bearer $AIIPWORLD_API_KEY" \
  -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
  -d '{"html":"","output":"pdf","options":{}}'

# returns {"job_id": "...", "status": "queued"}; then poll:
curl https://api.aiipworld.com/v1/jobs/JOB_ID -H "Authorization: Bearer $AIIPWORLD_API_KEY"

Batches

The web tool handles 1 web page at a time. The API takes one request per URL, so you can script as many as your plan allows.

More control

Headers and footers, page ranges, scale, custom page size, wait conditions and request headers are API options. See the docs.

Retention

Web-tool results are kept 10 minutes; free API results 1 day; Starter and Pro results 7 days; Business 30 days. The web tool allows 10 conversions per minute and 50 per day per visitor.

How it works

  1. Paste the full address of the page, starting with https:// or http://.
  2. Choose the paper size, margin and orientation. Switch to screen styles if the print version of the page looks wrong.
  3. If the page builds itself slowly, add a few seconds of extra wait.
  4. Complete the human check, press Convert to PDF, then download the file.

Example output

Questions

Why does the PDF look different from the page on my screen?

By default the page is printed with its print styles, like the browser's own Print command. If the page has none, or the print version drops things you want, choose screen styles in the options.

Can it convert pages that need a login?

No. The free tool opens the address as a logged-out visitor and sends no cookies. The API accepts custom request headers, which some sites accept for authentication. Only capture pages you are allowed to copy (see the Acceptable Use Policy).

Does JavaScript run, and does it wait for the page to finish?

Yes, JavaScript runs and the page is printed after it has loaded. If content appears later, add an extra wait of up to 10 seconds. The API also has wait_until and wait_for_selector for finer control.

Why do I get an error for some addresses?

Only public http and https addresses can be loaded. Local addresses, private networks and cloud metadata addresses are blocked on purpose, and so are redirects to them. A page that does not respond or refuses the request also fails.

How many pages can the PDF have?

The free web tool prints at most the first 10 pages. For longer pages use the API.

How long is the PDF kept?

Web-tool results are deleted after 10 minutes. Download it before then; no history is kept.

How is this different from Print and Save as PDF in my browser?

Your browser's Print dialog works on the tab you have open and is fine for a single page. This tool runs the same kind of engine on a server, so you can script it, use it on a device without a print dialog, or call the API for many pages.
